Bosco is Back and Wants Your Old Batteries!

waste management services

Bosco and the good people at WEEE Ireland are asking all the boys and girls to gather up their old, used batteries as new electrical toys and goods come into houses around the country over the Christmas period.

All you have to do is simply recycle your waste batteries anywhere that you see a blue WEEE Ireland battery box. These boxes are available in local shops, businesses and schools across the country. All retailers that sell batteries are obliged to take them back for free so there is no excuse to not make your ‘donation’ this year.

For every waste battery collected WEEE Ireland is contributing to the children’s charity, LauraLynn. In 2012/2013, the public recycled 25 million batteries, raising €90,000 for the charity.  It is anticipated that the 2014/2015 campaign will be even more successful.

Bosco, Ireland’s favourite TV star is again leading the recycling call for LauraLynn. Bosco will even make a special visit to one lucky school next year – all schools taking part in the WEEE Pledge battery recycling campaign will be in with a chance to win a visit from Bosco to their school.
