About Barna Recycling

Established in 1993 Barna Recycling, continues to grow from strength to strength, offering a wide range of domestic and commercial waste collection, recycling, compost and environmental services to over 60,000 customers throughout Connacht. We employ over 300 people in our four EPA licensed facilities in Galway, Roscommon, Athlone and Leitrim.

Our motto “bins collected on time, every time,” is at the heart of our business. We pride ourselves on our reliable collection service and we are committed to this level of service.

We aim to offer a first class service to our customers and best value for money. We are committed to promoting sustainability by reducing the volume of waste going to landfill, and our goal is to dispose zero waste to landfill.  

Our focus is centred around recycling and composting and by placing this at the heart of our business, we are leading the way to reduce the carbon footprint of both our company and customers.

Our head office is located in Carrowbrowne, Headford Road, Galway and boasts a 9 acre facility, 7.5 acres of which is under roof. The site is designed to manage the ever increasing volumes of recyclable and compostable material being produced in Ireland. Our EPA licensed facility is currently the largest waste transfer station in the province of Connacht and handles waste from all over the country.
